New IHPBA Membership Fees & Applications

As our global organisation of surgeons, gastroenterologists and hepatologists continues to grow, and in order to improve the scope of our membership services, the IHPBA Council and General Assembly, has decided to increase the IHPBA standard membership fees to USD 165 per year. This will take effect in 2009. As a strategy to help offset the effect of this fees increase it was also decided to create new membership categories, which will also be introduced in 2009:

  • Standard IHPBA Membership, US$165 per year: Full membership in the IHPBA for members age 35 and over. Please note that for members of the Asian-Pacific region, standard membership in IHPBA includes membership in the A-PHPBA as well until the end of 2009*.
  • NEW! - Combined Membership* EHPBA / IHPBA, US$220 per year: The IHPBA and EHPBA have joined together to offer a combined membership. Combined members enjoy full membership status in both the International Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association as well as the European Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association, which spans the regions of Europe, Africa and the Middle East.
  • NEW! - Junior Membership IHPBA, US$ 75 per year: In an effort to make membership more affordable for young doctors and residents, the IHPBA will be implementing a junior membership status for those members under the age of 35. Junior members will enjoy the same benefits as full members at the reduced rate.
  • NEW! - Combined Junior Membership EHPBA / IHPBA, USD 90 per year: Members under age 35 from Europe, Africa and the Middle East can also enjoy combined membership in both the IHPBA and EHPBA at the discounted rate.

As we prepare for the next invoice mailing for the 2009 IHPBA membership dues, members who wish to change their membership category should contact the IHPBA Executive Secretariat by August 15, 2008 (for Junior Membership members are kindly requested to send proof of their date of birth).

Please note, that members who do not send their request for an adjustment of their membership category by August 15, 2008, will be automatically invoiced for the standard IHPBA membership.

* Please note that as of 2010 a combined membership category will also be offered for A-PHPBA / IHPBA membership.  Discussions are currently taking place regarding a combined membership for AHPBA / IHPBA membership.  The IHPBA strives to create combined membership categories in collaboration with all three regional associations.
