This video is a filmed laparoscopic liver resection, carried out by the HPB Surgical Team of the Department of Surgery at the Campus Hospital Virgen del Rocio, Seville, led by Dr Javier Padillo. A TachoSil® haemostatic patch is applied during the procedure, in order to reduce the risk of bleeding or bile leakage.

Dr Javier Padillo is a Professor of Surgery and the Department Head of Surgery at the University Hospital Virgen del Rocío, in Seville, Spain. Dr Padillo has an extensive research profile in the area of pancreatic surgery and transplantation, with publications in journals such as the Annals of Surgery, British Journal of Surgery and the Journal of American College of Surgeons, among others. He is a founding partner of the Andalusian Association of Surgeons, and a member of the Spanish Society of Surgeons, Spanish Society of Surgical Research, Spanish Society of Liver Transplantation, Andalusian Society of Organ and Tissue Transplantation and Academic correspondent of the Royal Academy of Medicine of Seville.
