Prof. Yuji Nimura

Yuji Nimura is Professor and Chairman of Division of Surgical Oncology, Department of Surgery at Nagoya University Graduate School of Medicine. As a Director of Nagoya University Hospital from 2000 to 2002, he successfully completed a drastic graduate school reform, designated by the Minister of Education, Science and Culture. Also he serves as a Director and Master of Nagoya University Judo Club since 1985 and the Judo is his lifetime hobby.

He was born and raised in Nagoya, JAPAN and graduated from Nagoya University School of Medicine in 1969. After his 5 year trainings at regional hospitals and Cancer Institute Hospital in Tokyo, he started to work at Nagoya University Hospital from 1974. He was promoted to Associate Professor in 1980 and spent 10 months at University of California, Los Angeles as a visiting professor, supported by the Minister of Education in 1987-1988. Then he was appointed to the current position, Professor and Chairman in 1991.
