Brief History of the Chapter

The Japanese Society of Hepato-Biliary-Pancreatic Surgery (JSHBPS) was founded in 1993 and currently has 3,576 members. We decided to serve as a Japan Chapter for A-PHPBA/IHPBA in 2012. As of Mar. 2026, approximately 90 of our members are active members for A-PHPBA/IHPBA. We continue to encourage our members to apply for the membership for A-PHPBA/IHPBA. Moving toward Internationalization, most sessions at the JSHBPS annual meetings are now conducted in English, and we welcome participants from overseas.
