ECG Roadshow: Uncinate Process Cancer
The most challenging part of pancreatoduodenectomy is often the resection of the uncinate process and any vascular reconstruction in this context. This webinar will include practical advice on technical approaches to both uncinate dissection and vascular resection and reconstruction in PD.
Professor Yosuke Inoue's presentation explores the anatomical pitfalls and surgical approaches (open and robotic) and Professor Shin-E Wang's presentation explores technical tips and surgical approaches (open and robotic) to reconstruction after SMV/PV resection.
This webinar is ideal for HPB surgeons, surgical oncologists, fellows, and trainees seeking to enhance their knowledge in advanced pancreatic procedures, and is available for IHPBA members. To join IHPBA, please Join IHPBA Today

The Importance of Adhesion Prevention in Hepatobiliary Surgery
Time-to-interventional failure is an important concept in surgical management of both hepatocellular carcinoma and colorectal liver metastases because repeat resection for recurrence could prolong survival in these disease entities. However, repeat hepatectomy is generally technically demanding due to presence of adhesion formed after previous surgery. As such, prevention of adhesion formation is important to secure the safety and curability of repeat hepatectomy. In this talk, Prof. Junichi Shindoh will talk about the efficacy of adhesion barriers and technical tips for safe repeat hepatectomy.

Optimizing Patient Outcomes in Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Surgeries
A comprehensive review of VIBe Scale and Bleeding Management
This webinar, featuring Professor Brian Goh, Singapore General Hospital, reviews the VIBe scale and bleeding management in HPB surgery, equipping healthcare professionals to predict and manage postoperative bleeding, highlighting evidence-based strategies, hemostatic techniques, and best practices to improve patient outcomes, reduce complications, and enhance safety through a multidisciplinary, clinically applicable approach.

Non-autologous stump reinforcement after distal pancreatectomy
Postoperative pancreatic fistula (POPF) occurs in 5-50% of patients after distal pancreatectomy (DP).
Despite progress in surgical techniques, POPF remains a major source of morbidity and mortality after pancreatic resections, leading to increased hospital stays, healthcare costs, and can be a possible cause of delayed chemotherapy for patients with malignancy.
However, there is still no consensus about the most effective method of stump closure to prevent POPF.
In this webinar, Prof. Abraham Fingerhut summarises the insights gained from a systematic PRISMA-P compliant literature review and meta-analysis of RCTs on non-autologous stump closure after distal pancreatectomy.
