Great Britain and Ireland Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association (GBIHPBA)
Brief History of the Chapter
The Great Britain and Ireland Hepato Pancreato Biliary Association (GBIHPBA) was founded in 2010 as a constitutional branch within the Association of Upper GI Surgeons (AUGIS). Membership of GBIHPBA is open to all members of AUGIS with a declared interest in Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary (HPB) disease. GBIHPBA is affiliated to E-AHPBA as a national chapter. The aims of GBIHPBA are:
- To advance excellence in the delivery of healthcare to patients with HPB disease
- To promote and support basic science and clinical research into HPB disease
- To promote education and training in HPB disease
- To provide and disseminate information and advice to health professionals and members of the public on matters relating to HPB disease
- To maintain a national audit database of all cancer resections for HPB disease
