Season's Greetings from IHPBA

2020 has been a challenging year however I am very proud of what we have achieved during these difficult times. Driven by our aims and objectives as an organisation, we were dedicated to deliver a World Congress despite the obstacles we faced.  We believed that we had a duty to ensure that our members had access to high quality, up-to-date education to ensure our patients would still receive excellent care. The 2020 Virtual World Congress was a great success, and I am extremely grateful to everyone involved.  We did however miss seeing our friends and colleagues in person but we hope to see you all either in Miami, Bali or Bilbao in August/September 2021 at our Regional Association Congresses

The IHPBA Foundation’s activities in the areas of Education, Research, and the Kenneth Warren Fellowship continue to expand.  Unfortunately much of the Outreach work was put on hold due to travel restrictions but we are hopeful that projects can commence again in 2021.  If you have not already done so, I would urge you to consider making a donation to the IHPBA Foundation before the end of the year. You can do this when you renew your dues or via the online form here.

We recognise your enormous contribution to the care of your patients during the global pandemic and I would like to thank both our members and our hardworking committees for your input into the Association this year despite everything else you faced, and I hope you can join us at the virtual General Assembly on the 18 January 2021.

In the meantime, I would like to wish you and your loved ones a wonderful holiday season and a very happy, peaceful and safe new year.

Best wishes

Martin Smith
IHPBA President
